Harvest Season is Planting Season

Are you enjoying your peak summer vegetable garden? The tomatoes, peppers and squashes are loving the cool nights and moderate daytime temperatures we’re finally getting. This means more flowers, happy pollinators and, yes, loads more harvests!

I’m here to tell you that this season isn’t just about harvesting. It’s a perfect time to plant! In Boise, we’re blessed with a gorgeous fall growing season. If you’re at a loss for what to plant, here’s what I’d suggest you grow in your fall garden:

If the options overwhelm you, these are my go-to plants for fall. You can grow a lot from seed, but there’s also great transplants out there for peas, onions, shallots, leeks, kale, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower and lettuces.
