End of Summer Celebration

This week, we celebrated the end of summer with a group of our clients that have been working with us all season long. We’ve had the privilege of tending to their gardens every other week with bi-weekly maintenance, visiting with them monthly for coaching sessions and setting them for the spring and summer with seasonal transition support.

Over 50 folks joined us on the patio at Petite 4 for celebratory drinks, snacks, live music and conversation. It was the first time I met some of our new clients, and I was so proud to introduce them to my growing family. It was a true pinch me moment as a small business owner in Boise.

In addition to celebrating the end of summer, we all came together to say goodbye to Teresa, our director of operations, who is leaving for a year to live abroad. Teresa came on as my partner in gardening when I decided to become a mom, and when things went haywire with my pregnancy and subsequent NICU stay, she kept our small company afloat for an entire year mostly on her own. I will never be able to express my gratitude for her devotion to GFG, our gardening community and to our friendship. This event was as much a celebration of our season as it was an opportunity to demonstrate just how loved she is in our community.

Bon Voyage, Teresa + Stu! We’ll miss you!

That brings me to the reason for this blog. I wanted to go on record saying that Gold Feather Gardens has grown into a community of gardeners all around the Treasure Valley who value so much more than growing some of their own food. Talking to our group of gardeners on Tuesday reminded me why I started this business in the first place. We have helped folks grow confidence in their skills, connections with their loved ones and community in Boise through gardening. I am so proud of the work we’ve done together, and look forward to what the next year of growing will bring.

If you’ve been going at it alone in your gardening journey and want the support of GFG, send me an email below and we can setup some time to talk this fall.
